4. HEALTHCARE / PAYER / REGULATED-DOMAIN – ENTERPRISE-SCALE PLATFORM ENGINEERING
Build-the-Team-While-You-Build-the-Platform – Firm Model, Not Staff Augmentation
Support New Enterprise-Scale Platform Initiatives:
• Lead engineering teams delivering document processing / content pipelines at production scale, event-driven architecture and agentic user interface capabilities, from build through production support – proving each capability at production volume.
• Support roadmap sequencing with architecture and product partners, so foundational capabilities land ahead of work that depends on them and hold that sequence when delivery pressure argues for shortcuts.
• Implement platform contracts and standards agreed with Enterprise Architecture and contribute engineering perspective that shapes them before dependent teams build against them.
• Drive capabilities from first production consumer to broader enterprise adoption.
• Partner with infrastructure and security organizations on underlying cloud, messaging, hosting foundations – with observability, cost telemetry, operational readiness built in from start.
Build and Grow the Teams – Firm Provides, Not Client Hires:
• Stand up and scale engineering teams behind each capability area, including team topology, role mix, skill profile as it moves from early build into production operations.
• Recruit, hire, onboard engineers and engineering managers at pace – set hiring bar for full-stack, platform, integration, UX engineering roles.
• Mentor and develop engineering and technical staff, foster leadership and technical growth, build bench as organization grows.
• Build and maintain strong engineering culture focused on innovation, collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement – domain expertise and quality treated as first-class outcomes.

Why Firm vs. W2 or C2C Consultant?
Individual hourly = absorb 180-day non-negotiable risk without authority to pick team or establish PMO. Firm SOW via CompuSoft Advisory Group™ = own team, methodology, frameworks, QA, margin, guaranteed delivery. Principal-led since 1993.
The People Development Lifecycle (PDLC)
For years I lived inside SDLC — Software Development Lifecycle. I was called to revamp shelved or struggling projects, most cases were not failing to stay on tasks because of the software, but because they didn't think they had to align the people to make the team a success.
SDLC plans the system. PDLC aligns the people who build the system.
Most projects went wrong because client's didn't align the talent as a team. They assigned roles, not strengths.
The People Development Lifecycle (PDLC) — Solution
Solution: Build the Team Like a Football Team.
Every winning team has positions. Every project needs the same:
• The Quarterback (Your Lead SME) — The visionary who sees the whole field and calls the plays. Without them, you have talent but no direction.
• The Wide Receiver (Your Delivery SME) — The expert who makes the critical catch when it matters. They deliver the piece no one else can.
• The Linebacker (Your Protector) — The one who removes roadblocks, protects the team, and keeps the project moving forward.
• The Kicker (Your Specialist) — The expert you bring in for that perfect finish — data, compliance, final testing. Small role, game-winning impact.
When we put people together FIRST by teams — by their true expertise — the projects I revamped and restructured didn't just finish, they stayed successful for years.
It's like building a house — you don't start with the roof. You start by picking the right crew who knows how to lay the foundation.
The Traditional Phases vs. The PDLC Way
Traditional Project Management teaches:
Initiation → Planning → Execution → Monitoring & Controlling → Closing
PDLC adds the most important step BEFORE Initiation:
Phase 0: Team Alignment — Who is on this team and where do they play best?
The 9 Mindsets I Develop in My Teams
Technology changes. Mindsets win.
1. Curious — Always asking why
2. Resilient — Bounces back after a failed sprint
3. Positive — Sees solution, not blame
4. Focused — Knows their position
5. Strategic — Sees beyond their task
6. Proactive — Calls the play before it's needed
7. Adaptable — Can play another position if needed
8. Collaborative — Wins as a team, not as an individual
9. Growth-Minded — Always learning — like I did going back to enhance my education from the early 1990s Bachelors of Science - Computer Science to a recent upgrades in AI Policy Architecture, cybersecurity, organizational leadership and adding a permanent Certificate in Project Management/Science Management (2021-2024). Earning 4.0 GPA throughout the final program--holding a full-time contract and attending Post Graduate School including American Institute of CPAs (36-Leadership Driven Certification Completions
“In PDLC, we don't just track deliverables. We develop people. And developed people deliver successful projects.”
— Darlene Bonner-Johnson, Creator of PDLCTM
About the Founder
For over 30 years, Darlene lead and rescued complex projects — from mobilization to hypercare — as a principal-led ePMO and C-Suite ERP Transformation advisor.
Darlene started CompuSoft Advisory Group (CAG) on a simple belief she still hold: People Before Projects. Teams Before Tasks. We don’t staff. We own the outcome.
That belief became PDLC™ — People Development Lifecycle Methodology and Framework ©, First Use June 7, 2024, Class 42. It’s my framework for putting people together FIRST by their expertise as a team — like a football team with a Quarterback, Wide Receiver, Linebacker, and Kicker — so projects you revamp and restructure succeed for years.
Our Founder hold multiple degrees and certifications: Computer Science (Marquette), Business Management with a Certificate in Project Management, and Organizational Leadership (MBA), along with AICPAs 30+ professional certifications. But her most rewarding credential is three decades of making teams win.
